Carbon Monoxide Law The Law On Carbon Monoxide And Smoke Detectors In My House?

The law on Carbon Monoxide and Smoke Detectors in my house? - carbon monoxide law

I buy a house that was built in 1974. The previous owner had smoke detector batteries.
Can someone tell me what is the law of Maine to have them? Of course I need a smoke detector. Do I need carbon monoxide detectors as well? "You need to be wired and how much of each?

Smoke detectors required. The owner must be properly installed or not properly installed, smoke detectors, according to the National Electricity Code and requirements of the manufacturer. Can be in homes, at least one smoke detector, the photoelectric, ionization or a combination thereof in any area will be installed inside or access to rooms. These smoke detectors may be powered by electricity in the house, using battery or by a combination of both. All the smoke detector is located 20 meters from a kitchen or bathroom with bath or shower should be a photoelectric type of smoke detector.

CO detectors are a good idea, but I think it is only necessary in multi-family dwellings. Check the link.
